We offer riding lessons to everyone aged 4 years and upwards on our exceptional selection of horses and ponies. We welcome total beginners right through to more experienced riders of all ages. Lessons are available on a group, semi-private or private basis
Children’s Lessons
Stourport Riding Centre welcomes children aged 4 upwards. We aim to give children of all abilities a deeper understanding of horse riding. Our vision is to help children have fun and enjoy the learning and responsibility they are given in a safe environment.
Our lesson groups are decided according to the ability of the riders and not age.
1/2 hour Group lesson includes 30 minutes riding for £35.00 per rider.
Group lessons take place on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday after school, and on a Saturday.
Lesson Categories
Riding ability is assessed before the first lesson and children are put into the following categories:-
Grade 5 Beginners Lesson
Grade 4 Walk & Trot
Grade 3 Walk, Trot & learning to canter
Grade 2 Walk, Trot, Canter & learning to jump
Grade 1 Walk, Trot, Canter & Jumping
- All lessons are taught by UKCC qualified and experienced instructors.
- All staff are CRB checked
- All staff hold The British Horse Society Safeguarding and Protection of Children Certificate.
- All full time staff are first aid trained.
Junior Senior Lessons
These sessions provide a chance for you and your family to enjoy riding together as a leisure activity. The lesson is given exclusively to you on a private basis, allowing adults and children to ride together. We’ve had Mums and Dads, Aunties, Sisters, Cousins, who do you fancy seeing on a horse?!
Adult Lessons
We are pleased to offer adult lessons on our selection of exceptional selection of horses and ponies. We will usually start with a Private Assessment Lesson, with a view to placing you into one of our Adult Group Lessons.
never ridden before or simply haven’t done it for years and fancy making a return to the saddle- all abilities are welcome. We also provide tuition for more experienced riders. With the increasing costs of keeping your own horse we have a number of adult riders who receive tuition and compete on our horses, all the fun and none of the hassle of owning your own horse. Please note we do have weight restriction of 13 stone. Also visit our What’s on page as our adult riding courses are a popular and great value way to ride for beginner and advanced riders.
